Prayer is the heartbeat of a devoted disciple’s life.
It is the primary way we communicate with Jesus, abide in him continually, and seek him and his will in all things. Prayer can also be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. Practicing the discipline of prayer is merely a conversation with God, who loves you, and saved you into a real and intimate relationship with him. Let’s go to God, boldly and with confidence together.
PRACTICE:
Structure your day around your relationship with God through various methods of conversation, meditation, fasting, and silence.
TAKE A FIRST STEP:
- Start a daily prayer rhythm. Begin by praying once a day. Once this becomes a rhythm, try praying morning, afternoon, and evening. These can be short and simple prayers. The goal is consistency and intimacy.
- Fast from one meal a week and take that time to pray alone or with others.
